Yin Yoga

Yin yoga holds a small number of seated or floor-based poses for several minutes at a time, targeting the connective tissue around your joints rather than your muscles. The pace is slow and mostly still, with an emphasis on settling into a pose rather than moving through it.

What to expect in a Yin class

01

Settle in

Class opens with a few minutes of quiet breathing to prepare the body for stillness.

02

Hold each pose

Poses are held for three to five minutes at a time, using props to support a passive, relaxed hold.

03

Rest in silence

A longer closing rest lets the nervous system fully settle after the long holds.
